The contrast between poor and rich comes across rather well in this image. One of the most surprising things to me as a visitor to India was how extreme wealth and extreme poverty were to be found side-by-side. Multi-million dollar homes would have cardboard box and tarpaulin huts built next to them and tent shanty towns would be built on empty blocks in otherwise very affluent looking areas.
